Google search by region
All the time running AdWords camapaign the most common step is to split it per particular region. There are several reasons but quite often it is simply limited by a merchant’s shipping coverage or different text in the ad is needed competing rivals at the same region.
The most obvious before blowing in cash is to check other ads bidding on the same keywords. However, Google by deafult shows only sponsored links tied to the region of your IP. Adding an extra input parameter with the region name to the google search string will fix the issue.
Let ’s say I am searching for “lenses review”. The google search will look as following :
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=lenses+reviews&aq=0&oq=lenses+review
By default it will show the AdWords targeted to Australia. To check US targeted ads I do following:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&gl=US&q=lenses+reviews&aq=0&oq=lenses+review
where gl=US simply indicates the desired location.
Here is a list of other countries that can be applied:
and so on .
Actually Google has another handy tool that allows narrowing down geotargeting displaying currently rotating AdWords per particular state or even city- https://adwords.google.com/select/AdTargetingPreviewTool
